Bimetallic thermometer is a field detection instrument used for measuring medium and low temperatures, which can be directly used to measure the temperature of gases and liquids. Compared with glass mercury thermometers, it has the advantages of easy reading, durability, and sturdiness.

principle

The measurement of temperature by a bimetallic thermometer is achieved through the sensing of temperature by a coil spring type bimetallic strip made of bimetallic material inside the system. Its bimetallic material is composed of two inseparable metal sheets, which have different coefficients of thermal expansion and therefore undergo varying degrees of stretching deformation under temperature changes. This stretching deformation is approximately proportional to temperature. One end of the metal sheet is fixed and the other end is integrated with the indicator shaft, so as to drive the indicator shaft to rotate and indicate the corresponding temperature value on the dial when the metal sheet is stretched and deformed.
